We’re getting all feathers and Jazz hands at La Belle Epoque this week. With summer fast fading away and grey skies drawing in everyone could do with a little injection of pazzaz!. We’ve been shimmyng through our theatre collection and all this week we will be presenting our most glamourous, high kicking, party ready show girls. TADA!
Today’s risky wonder is a 1970’s poster for the French Music Hall Folies Bergere. This venue and it’s performers have been dazzling audiences since the 1860’s! And has produced many fabulous posters. Todays poster sees a show girl doing the arial splits. Wearing noting but long gloves, boots and flowing red hair to preserve carefully placed to preserve her modesty!
